The "handcrab" (non-canonal name) is a frequent enemy in Afraid of Monsters and the Director's Cut. Handcrabs are one of the earlier and weaker monsters David encounters in the events of the game.

Appearance Edit

The handcrab appears as a decaying head with a hand reaching out of its mouth. It moves quickly, despite its appearance, and it jumps forward with extreme agility.

In the original Afraid of Monsters, handcrabs are reskins of the headcrab with nails protruding from the skin.

Tactic Edit

  • The handcrab launches at the player hand-first and does minimal damage.
  • The handcrabs are mostly encountered in vents and smaller rooms, due to their small size and agility.
  • Melee weapons or shots from the P228 are the best way to dispatch of these enemies quickly.

Trivia Edit

  • The handcrab is a reskin of Half-Life's headcrab, and makes similair noises while sharing the movement and programming of the headcrab.
